                     <p>On fol. <locus>7r</locus> is written: <q xml:lang="is">alfur gilsason [sic] An<ex>n</ex>o 1673</q>, and on
                        fol. <locus>7v</locus>
                        <q xml:lang="is">Solmundur Bergsueinßon meh</q>. This Álfur might be identical with the <q xml:lang="is">lögréttumaður</q>
                        <name type="person" key="AlfGis002">Álfur Gíslason</name> at Reykir in Ölfuss, and Sólmundur might be
                           <name type="person" key="SolBer001">Sólmundur Bergsveinsson</name>, brother of <name type="person" key="HafBer001">Hafliði</name>. The first two lines of the poem on fol. <locus>7v</locus> were repeated
                        by a different hand. On the inside of the binding is a manuscript fragment containing an unidentified text.</p>

                     <p>The manuscript was written in <origPlace key="IS">Iceland</origPlace> in the <origDate notBefore="1600" notAfter="1699">seventeenth century</origDate>.</p>

                     <name type="person" role="owner" key="ArnMag001"/>
                     <p>Hast (<bibl>
                        <ref target="BiblArn23">Pappershandskrifterna till Harðar saga</ref>, p. 173 </bibl>) assumes the
                        manuscript was written for bishop <name type="person" role="commie" key="BrySve001">Brynjólfur
                           Sveinsson</name>. According to Hast, it might have
                        been bishop <name type="person" role="owner" key="BrySve001">Brynjólfur Sveinsson</name> who gave the
                        manuscript to <name type="person" role="owner" key="ThoKla001">Þorleifur Kláusson</name>. The latter might
                        have then lent it to the father of <name type="person" role="other" key="SolBer001">Sólmundur
                           Bergsveinsson</name> at Hrafnkelsstaðir and to <name type="person" role="other" key="AlfGis002">Álfur
                           Gíslason</name> at Reykir in Ölfuss.</p>
