                     The manuscript was written in <origPlace key="unknown">Iceland or Denmark</origPlace> <origDate notBefore="1690" notAfter="1710"> ca. 1700.</origDate>. It was once part of a larger codex.
                    <note> According to the note on the fly-leaf, <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni
                        Magnússon</name> got the manuscript from <name type="person" key="MarBer001">Markús Bergsson</name>. Considering that Árni wrote <title type="uniform">Sörla
                           þáttr</title> himself, the information about the former owner must refer to
                     another manuscript.</note>
