                        <p>The manuscript was formerly bound in leaves from a Latin liturgical book with musical
                           notation (two overlapping leaves), written in Iceland in the <date notBefore="1400" notAfter="1499">fifteenth century</date>, 
                           now <ref type="ms">AM Access. 7b, HS 34</ref>. 
                           The parchment on the boards was removed in 1911 and replaced with marbeled paper. The parchment on the
                           spine was retained in the newer binding.
                        Since the script on the parchment on the spine is coming away, underlying material has become visible. It
                        can be identified as Icelandic.
