<provenance>
<p>According to a set of modern notes laid-in at the front of the
volume, this MS was owned by <name key="OloRud001" type="person"
role="owner">Olof Rudbeck the elder</name>. The
copying was arranged by Peter Salan, from
whom there are some letters to Rudbeck in items 20 and 22. It is
likely that the manuscript was inherited by <name key="OloRud002"
type="person" role="owner">Olof Rudbeck the younger</name> and
that it was offered for sale in a public auction of his manuscripts
in <date>1741</date>. The next owner was <name key="ChrBra001"
type="person" role="owner">Christopher Henric Braad</name>,
whose autograph appears at the top of the front pastedown. He owned
the manuscript around <date>1745</date> at <name type="place"
>Stockholm</name> according to another autograph on fol. 1r.
Braad's manuscripts are said to have been
acquired by <name key="JAALue001" type="person" role="owner">J.A.A.
Lüdeke</name> and sold at auction in <date>1840</date>. An
inscription on the front pastedown reads: <q>Givet til Bergens
Museum af Kong Carl Johan. 1840.</q> (i.e. <name key="KarXIV001"
type="person" role="other">Charles XIV</name> of Sweden and Norway).
The inscription is in the hand of <name type="person" role="other" key="WilChr001">Wilhelm Christie</name>
according to the modern notes.</p>
