Low
- A table of contents has been added to the recto of the front flyleaf. Notes at the end of several texts.
Moderately decorated (contemporary)
Bound in a re-used eighteenth-century dark brown leather binding with
blind-stamped decorations (flowers) and metal (bronze?)
clasps with leather straps. The metal portion of the upper clasp is lacking.
The front and back flyleaves contain printed waste from a
Danish "Folketallet" (census) for the first of
February 1801.
1790-1810IcelandNote: Dated 1800 on fol. 182r, but the variety of hands suggests that the manuscript was composed
over a period of time. According to Foote (
Jóns saga Hólabyskups ens helga,p. 114), the part
containing Jóns saga helga (fols. 107-133) was written
before 1735.
Rasmus Kristian Rask: OwnerÁrni Magnússon: OwnerÞorvaldur Böðvarsson: OwnerA note in the middle of the table of contents on the front flyleaf reads: "Keyptar med Verdi i
Holti i Ønundarfirdi þann 17da Augusti 1811 af Þorvalldi
Bỏdvarssynz". A signature (ownership mark?) has been excised from the first rear flyleaf, which
also contains a pen test reading: "Gudmug"
