This manuscript consists of 2 parts.

Moderately decorated (contemporary)

Cream parchment on cardboard. On the spine the following is printed: "COD. ISL. PAPP. 8:o N:o 6 ", and "N: 6 islandica" is handwritten in ink. A red label is attached to the front cover in the bottom left-hand corner. On the label: "Riks-Bibliotek STOCKHOLM Handskrifter. Islandica Pappir 8o No 6" On the front inside cover a print from a book of a heron's (ardea piscatrix) skeleton has been pasted. On the recto of the fourth front flyleaf a list of the contents of both manuscript parts, clearly made after they were bound together, has been included (Sögur á þessari bók).

On fol. 110v, there are many pen trials, the word "gudsnad" and a note by Isleifur Arngrimsson: "þessa bók á Isleifur Arngrimsson oc er vel ad kominn".
A page has been added beside the first back flyleaf. It is from a ledger containing transactions from the 1610s and 1620s
