  • There are two AM-slips. The one in the beginning of the manuscript reads: "Versionem Latinam Ragnars Sogu, sem eg hefi med hende Sr Torfa Jonssonar i Gaulveribæ, corrigerada af Mag. Bryniolfi. seger Sr Jon Torfason fodur sinn giort i Skalhollte, þa hann var ut Skolavetrenum adr enn hann (Torfe) siglde um sumared epter, idqve Jubente Bryniolfo. Eg feck þesse blod i Gaulveriabæ 1704. Sr Torfe deponerade in Decembri 1642. Ergo er versionem giord um veturenn 1641-42. a audru are Mag. Bryniolfs." 1641-1687IcelandNote: The first translation of Völsunga saga was made in the winter 1641-42 by Torfi Jónsson, later priest of Gaulvejarbær, commissioned by bishop Brynjólfur Sveinsson. The second translation must have been made before 1687.
